The Institute of Measurement and Control, Hong Kong Section organized a Taiwan Study Tour from January 15 – 20, 2018. Total 28 students joined the tour. The study tour aims to let the participants to understand the development of measurement and instrumentation industry in Taiwan and improve their communication skills through the discussion with Taiwan local students and industrialists.
Through the study tour, the students met the researchers and academics from National Tsing Hua University and Chung Yuan Christian University. They introduced their research interests and led the students to visit the learning resources centers and laboratories.
When we visited the food factory, the students were led to the production line and understood how the soy was made and how the company implemented food safety management system in the production.
The talk organized by IEEE – PSES Taiwan Chapter, they invited well-experienced engineers from CSA, UL and Lenovo to introduce the testing life cycles, calibration of Electromagnetic Compatibility Chamber. In addition, they shared the knowledge and challenges of European RoHS requirement.
During the visit and talk, the participants asked questions about the current challenges and opportunities of measurement and instrumentation industry in Taiwan, future learning opportunities and scholarship provided by National Tsing Hua University and Chung Yuan Christian University if they take the postgraduate studies in Taiwan.
