Objects

The objects of the Hong Kong Section is to implement in every way possible the Royal Charter of the Institute of Measurement and Control (hereinafter referred to as The InstMC) and in particular:

  • To support and assist The InstMC in the attainment of the objects of The InstMC. To further the objects of The InstMC. - The objects of The InstMC are: "To promote for the public benefit, by all available means, the general advancement of the science and practice of measurement and control technology and its application";

  • To stimulate interest in The InstMC among members and non-members, to promote the activities of The InstMC, and to promote membership of The InstMC;

  • To provide a focal point for the advancement of the local industries in applying the measurement and control technology;
  • To arrange conference, colloquia, seminars, etc. in conformity with the practices of The InstMC;

  • To foster good relations and to encourage joint functions with other professional institutions;

  • To arrange and manage the affairs of The Hong Kong Section in conformity with the practices of The InstMC;

Membership

  • All members of The InstMC, of whatever category, with residential address or working in Hong Kong SAR, shall be members of The Hong Kong Section and shall be admitted in such category corresponding to his or her membership category in The InstMC.

  • Any member of The Hong Kong Section who has ceased to be a member of The InstMC shall be ceased from membership of The Hong Kong Section.

Management

  • The activity of The Hong Kong Section shall be managed by a Section Committee, all members of which shall be members of The Hong Kong Section. The member of The Section Committee shall be honorary and without remuneration.

  • The Section Committee shall have power at any time and from time to time to establish Task Committees for such purposes as it deems fit and may determine the powers, functions and duties of any such Task Committees.
